I believe that treasuring the people in our life not only helps the people in our life but helps US. It is so easy to get so caught up in the daily routine of life that we forget the best gifts are the people that live with us. I want to use my camera and vision to show you what you have in the connections to the people you love. It is the greatest treasure we have in this life. When a mom can see how her children listen to her and respond to her she knows her daily energy into her family is building people. When a man can see that the best life has to offer him is in his own house that is a beautiful thing. It is something I can do. I want to be a blessing and that is what heals me ! I love this job ! I truly believe families can be glued together with one really special photograph. It is such a cool thing to walk into a family feel the dynamics that are unique to their special relationships and translate that into a hard copy image. I just can't believe it !!! I just got this email :)

I am sooo thankful for all my clients and the fact that you all allow me into your life and let me be as creative as I am feeling and let me show off your families :) You all are such a gift to me ! This life I am living is such a dream come true for me !!! I have a job that allows me to be as creative as I want to be. I get to interact with the most special people and have the opportunity to bless them which blesses me !!!! I get paid to do something I am COMPLETELY PASSIONATE about and you all are so awesome to let me hear from you !!!! What other job allows you to lay on the floor ... stand on chairs... hang from trees... balance on rocks .... tip toe in the water... rock babies to sleep... witness real love upclose and personal.... be directly involved in really important moments and make it last a little longer? My job... Thank you !!!!!


5/28/2009 Photographer Cindy Harter of cartersville, ga, has won First Place for April in the prestigious photography contest sponsored by BetterPhoto.com, the site's founder, Jim Miotke, announced Thursday.

More than 20300 entries were submitted to the online photography contest, which attracted contestants from around the world and featured 10 separate categories.

Harter's stunning image, "symmetry", garnered top honors after being submitted in the People category.

The contest is conducted each month. Categories include Nature and Landscapes, Animals, People, Elements of Design, Digital Darkroom, Travel and Place, Flowers, Details and Macro, Catch-All, and Monthly Theme. Judging is performed by a panel of professional photographers.

Besides its free, popular photo contest, BetterPhoto.com also offers a variety of services: digital camera reviews, online photo courses, free newsletters, a discussion forum, Web sites for photographers, question-and-answer section, how-to articles, photo galleries, and more.
